Where does my data come from?

It is necessary to disclose personal data to take part in the competition.

The personal data required will be processed exclusively to carry out the competition. To do this, we will only process personal data that you provide to us within the context of the competition.

Which data about me will be processed?

We will collect the following data for participation in the competition:

  • Email address (mandatory field)
  • First name
  • Surname
  • User name
  • Company
  • Country

We may ask for additional data after the winners have been drawn. To do this, we will contact the winner or winners by email in order to find out their exact address (address, post code and town/city) in order to deliver the prize.

Why will data be processed (purpose of processing) and what is the legal basis for this?

We process personal data in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR and the German Data Protection Act (BDSG). The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR.

Who will get my data?

The organiser points out that all personal data from participants will neither be transferred to third parties nor provided to these for use without consent. Within the company, only those points that are responsible for the competition will receive your data.

There is an exception for the subcontractor commissioned to carry out the competition (THE DISTRIQT MEDIA UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Forsmansstraße 14b, 22303 Hamburg). This company will collect, store and use the data on our behalf for the purpose of carrying out the competition.

How long will my data be stored?

We will store your data for the duration of the competition (1 December 2023 to 28 February 2024) and the subsequent draw. After successfully drawing the winners, including making contact with them and sending the prizes, we will erase your data in full. However, your data will be erased three months after the end of the competition at the latest.

Will my data be transmitted to third countries or international organisations?

Data will not be transmitted to third countries (states outside the European Economic Area – EEA).

What are my data protection rights?

Every data subject has the right to information as per Art. 15 GDPR, the right to correct and/or supplement data as per Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure as per Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restrict processing as per Art. 18 GDPR and the right to data portability from Art. 20 GDPR. The restrictions as per sections 34 and 35 BDSG apply to the right to information and the right to erasure. Furthermore, you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with section 19 BDSG).

Am I obliged to provide data?

Within the context of the competition you must only provide the personal data that is necessary to identify a winner. If we do not have this data, or if the disclosures are incorrect, we will not be able to enter you in the competition.

To what extent is automatic decision-making (including profiling) used in individual cases?

Within the scope of carrying out the competition we generally do not use any automatic decision-making – including profiling – as per Art. 22 GDPR. If we do use this in exceptions, we will inform you of this separately, provided this is legally stipulated.

Right to object
You have the right, for reasons that must result from your particular situation, to object to the processing of the personal data relating to you at any time, which is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1) e or f GDPR. This also applies to any profiling done based on these provisions. If personal data relating to you is processed for the purposes of direct advertising, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data relating to you for the purposes of such advertising at any time; this also applies to profiling insofar as this is associated with such direct advertising.
There can be mandatory grounds for further processing by us that outweigh your interests. In this case we would restrict the processing of the relevant data and process it exclusively for these purposes, of which you will be informed.
